I write about the conditions under which technology is developed, bought, or denied: AI governance, technological sovereignty, trade measures, chokepoints, dependencies, and the movement of knowledge and people. None of these are technical questions. They are driven by interests, motives, decisions, and disappointments. That is to say, they are politics, and technology is one of the forms it takes.

I work in security governance inside the European semiconductor supply chain. Nothing in my writing draws on my employer’s information, and all views are my own.
